"The seventh son of a seventh son...."

"Born under the first full moon after a great inferno...."

"Born with the mark of the waterfall on her shoulder...."

"The child of a mystic and a king...."

"It is your destiny to save us."

"ME?!? WHAT??

-record scratch- Yup, that's me. I'm sure you're wondering how I got here, and I promise you it's the last place I want to be. Apparently I fit the bill to fulfill some prophecy that was written before anyone was alive, and now I've got a whole slew of real heroes looking to ME to lead them!!? But I'm literally nobody!!"

The Chosen WHAT?!? is a game for one player and one GM about a nobody who is suddenly thrust into fantasy stardom by an ancient prophecy, and stupid coincidence. Your various abilities are representations of the heroes who believe you are the one and are willing to lay down their lives to make sure you fulfill your destiny. They will fight for you, steal for you, plan for you, and even die for you. How many heroes will you go through before you start believing in yourself?

Mechanically, you'll get to create new heroes out of a few rolls and prompts, then play all the characters at once as each one is represented by a different stat. Fail too many times and you'll lose that hero until you reach a settlement where you can find another. Keep them alive long enough and they might just teach you how to be your own hero. I'm working out rules for one player and one GM, but I might also try to make it totally solo and use oracles for the story beats. Plus a Mad Libs-style minigame to make up the actual prophecy at the beginning.

Stick around and watch this project come to life! And yes the cover art is AI-generated until I have an art budget of some sort, but I actually like the style.
